Well, Religion is very problematic with today's society. When you think about it, is it not the reason for various wars, hate crimes, division in nations (segregation?), and many other things? It makes more problems then it claims to solve. Besides, it's just a way to make people feel better about them selves because they can't get past a certain psychological event or something that is emotionally crippling. In other words, It's just a crutch for the weak.

I guess that's pretty cold to say, but tell me it's not true. Think about it. A lot of things are needed to be considered when you try to put a name on the various things that happen without a known cause or reason. Ha... i guess in this sense I am a realist?

though you do have a point fruithead, it is also historically a method for explaining the unexplained, science has now given more sensible answers for a lot of it, (evolution, weather, seasons, chemistry, geology, photosynthesis, energy transfer, space geology, ect), however it is still now used to explain the supernatural, ghosts, 6th sense, foresight, ect. and how do we know that science won't come up with an explanation for them too one day?

personally I am very scientific in the way i think and yet religious (kinda conflicting to most people) but I just think of religion as the poetic way to explain the world and science the factual one. still doesn't mean we have all the facts though
